The libraries in South Africa are poorly stocked and a lot of books are overpriced. I love the Book Depository but I also hate waiting two weeks when I'm hungry for a particular book. I'll still continue to borrow and buy books but an eReader is handy in a pinch!Cristina (Rochester Reader)https://www.blogger.com/profile/11157196972931051576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1761873841609819775.post-18770633240518394342011-04-07T21:00:42.156+08:002011-04-07T21:00:42.156+08:00I live in Macedonia and bought a kindle a couple w...I live in Macedonia and bought a kindle a couple weeks before moving here - like you say, not being able to head to a bookstore or library and pick up whatever book you want makes an e-reader more attractive than it would otherwise be. Right now I'm reading "Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist" and "Say Her Name" on mine. I still prefer real books, but since there's one bookstore (in the whole COUNTRY) where i can buy overpriced English language books, I've found myself pretty happy with my kindle.

-- ellenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1761873841609819775.post-57520880203827727742011-03-21T22:58:38.577+08:002011-03-21T22:58:38.577+08:00" However, during the last few months I'v..." I still prefer the print books, but I do look forward to the experience of an ereader. Whether I'll start preferring ebooks, I don't know. Plus, I can just throw it in my handbag and go and have a variety of books at my disposal, instead of lugging around whatever hefty tome I'm reading at the moment. Don't get me wrong, having a Kindle hasn't stopped me from purchasing books, but its definitely helped in accessing books anytime I want something new to read. Enjoy your Kindle!!Nadiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14315207186180201488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1761873841609819775.post-4226300537986021442011-03-21T05:55:21.260+08:002011-03-21T05:55:21.260+08:00I do not use the Kindle but can see where it would...I do not use the Kindle but can see where it would be very valuable in your reading circumstances. I love my Nook for the sheer amount of books it can hold, the way I can enlarge the print when necessary, and the easy access to almost any book I want for far less than it would cost in a bookshop. I hope you like your Kindle as much as I like my Nook, even when we're missing the scent of the book's true pages.

(I'm currently reading the Bible for Lent, and I found a wonderful new to me translation which happened to be free from Barnes and Noble for my Nook. Talk about a blessing! I hope your Kindle has free books, too. xoxo)Bellezza https://www.blogger.com/profile/18073864187188953633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1761873841609819775.post-62820990282114610072011-03-21T04:25:18.180+08:002011-03-21T04:25:18.180+08:00I am still readin War & Peace on mine, thats w...I am still readin War & Peace on mine, thats when I think the kindle comes into its own as I haven't got to hold such a heavy book in my hands or put up with tiny writing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1761873841609819775.post-40514634741025838712011-03-21T00:44:16.864+08:002011-03-21T00:44:16.864+08:00I am hoping to receive my own Kindle next week (as...I am hoping to receive my own Kindle next week (as a birthday gift).
