Of Spark's quirkier fiction in an already fairly quirky yet diverse oeuvre, I think this is one of the quirkiest. And I agreee with othhers here that Spark deserves a revival.Thomas Hogglestockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14284352537015457974noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1761873841609819775.post-72957175129449715122010-03-03T06:15:19.848+08:002010-03-03T06:15:19.848+08:00I LOVE your blog, and I am passing on a blog award...I LOVE your blog, and I am passing on a blog award! meme Details here: http://www.theunreadreader.com/Missie, The Unread Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10548256640926555361noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1761873841609819775.post-69966127907795972192010-03-02T04:15:48.744+08:002010-03-02T04:15:48.744+08:00Between you and Claire, I've been sold - I rea...Between you and Claire, I've been sold - I really need to give Muriel Spark a try soon.Ana S.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16092495983972185943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1761873841609819775.post-84753953242722253042010-03-02T02:45:04.556+08:002010-03-02T02:45:04.556+08:00The Lost Man Booker Prize is great for rescuing gr...The Lost Man Booker Prize is great for rescuing great books from oblivion, especially The Driver's Seat, which has been woefully neglected. I think it is an underrated marvel. It is the only nominee I have read other than Troubles by JG Farrell (v. good) and I hope it wins as Spark's work deserves it.

I reviewed Memento Mori last week and it's very similar to The Driver's Seat in its unsettling nature as well as not quite knowing whether you enjoyed it or not but being certain that you have read something special and timeless.Paperback Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14579608422235511054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1761873841609819775.post-80614050521448223052010-03-01T16:31:25.053+08:002010-03-01T16:31:25.053+08:00Tantalising review! It was a disconcerting read. She's a very good author--her books so good, but very different from each other. I had no idea what the Lost Man Booker prize was, though I had heard it mentioned.
